The organisation:

The role:

A crucial role ensuring adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements, you are a strategic thinker who can facilitate communication between the Board of Directors and other stakeholders to ensure good governance. 
  
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, requiring a commitment of approximately one week per month, including the attendance at bi-monthly Board meetings held in North Canterbury.  Your ability to thrive in both independent and collaborative settings will be appreciated.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide company secretarial and governance support to the Board, and identify areas for improved corporate governance
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to prepare Board meeting agendas
  • Attendance and minute taking at bi-monthly Board meetings
  • Compilation and distribution of documentation
  • Calendar management to track meeting schedules
  • Identification and management of potential conflicts of interest
  • File security and compliance

Skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR, Agriculture or a related field preferred
  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within an agricultural or board setting
  • Demonstrated ability to draft meeting agendas, papers and minutes
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of record keeping and governance compliance
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency at developing positive relationships with key stakeholders
