We have a flexible structure whereby the role will commence in the in-patient unit and may rotate to community over time. The role is based in Rotorua but could involve some in-reach to the satellite office in Taupo.

The successful candidate will have:
- A broad range of general psychiatric skills
- Hold or be eligible for Vocational Registration with Medical Council of NZ
- Enjoy teaching – Rotorua is a teaching hospital with 4th, 5th and 6th year medical students as well as registrars training for fellowship with the RANZCP
- The role:
- Busy role with a broad variety of general psychiatry
- 1:6 on call roster
- Leadership opportunities, such as Head of Department

Lakes DHB serves a population of just over 118,000 and covers 9,570 square kilometres. It stretches from Mourea in the north to Mangakino in the west, down to Tūrangi in the south and across to Kaingaroa village in the east. The major centres of population are Rotorua and Taupō where two hospitals are based. The DHB’s boundaries take in the two main iwi groups of Te Arawa and Ngāti Tūwharetoa.

Awhe utu / Salary range
$ 142,000 to $ 267,980 pro-rated to hours worked plus Senior Medical Officer allowances.
