Tradestaff have a variety of Fabricator/Welder jobs across the Waikato region. Waikato will be the predominate area of work for this role – however you may also be required to work in the Bay of Plenty and Hawkes Bay Regions. This will be discussed further with the successful applicant.

We are looking for Welder/Fabricators with background knowledge and experience with the following (but are not limited to):
- studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
- selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
- cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
- shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
- fabricates structural steel and other metal stock to make or repair metal products and structures such as boilers and pressure vessels
- aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
- examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
- finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
- cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiseling and grinding
- repairs to metal products and structures using various welding techniques.
- joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
Ideally, you will be or have:
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience
- Trade qualifications preferred however scope and length of experience may substitute for the formal qualification
- Your own tools
- Own reliable transport
- At least 2 work references
- 100% commitment to Health & Safety
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Class 1 preferred but not essential
