Job Summary: As a CNC Waterjet Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our state-of-the-art waterjet cutting machines to fabricate stone products according to detailed specifications. This position requires expertise in CNC machine operation, precision stone cutting, and a strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality results. You will play a key role in producing custom designs for our clients and ensuring that all pieces meet industry standards for quality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, program, and operate CNC waterjet machines for cutting stone materials, including granite, marble, quartz, and other natural stones.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to determine cutting specifications.
• Adjust machine settings (speed, pressure, water flow, etc.) to ensure optimal performance and accuracy for different stone materials.
• Monitor the cutting process to ensure smooth operation and detect any potential issues with material or machine functionality.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC waterjet machines to keep them in optimal working condition.
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and consistency, ensuring they meet specifications and customer requirements.
• Work collaboratively with the production team, including designers, fabricators, and project managers, to ensure projects are completed on time.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to safety protocols and company standards.
• Assist with material inventory management, ensuring adequate stock levels for production.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance processes, increase efficiency, and reduce waste.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, specifically with waterjet cutting systems (experience in stone fabrication is a plus).
• Strong understanding of CNC programming, including the ability to read and edit G-code and CAD/CAM files.
• Proficient in operating and troubleshooting CNC waterjet machines.
• Experience with stone materials, including cutting, shaping, and finishing.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality control and precision.
• Good understanding of safety protocols and best practices in machining.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with other types of CNC machinery (e.g., CNC routers, laser cutters) is a plus.
• Knowledge of different stone types and how to handle and cut them effectively.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and design tools.
• Forklift or other material handling certifications.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move heavy materials as required.
• Ability to stand, bend, and move around a production floor for extended periods.
• Comfortable working with sharp tools and heavy machinery in a manufacturing environment.
