About the Role
The purpose of this nursing leadership role is to respond to variances in clinical education needs and facilitate learning for nurses working where medical and older person’s rehabilitation care is delivered in our region. The role also facilitates the learning experience for students and new graduate nurses placed within this service.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Professional Development Unit offers a supportive environment focused on development and growth. We are an exceptionally supportive and enthusiastic team of clinical education and workforce development specialists, who collaborate to deliver the Professional Development Unit’s vision of “Leading Education for Quality Care”. Through mentorship and access to professional supervision we want to be able to offer professional development opportunities to help you become the best version of you!
About you
Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:
- Current Annual Practising Certificate from Nursing Council of New Zealand
- Proven ability to guide others in applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles to enhance health outcomes and equity for Māori.
- Demonstrated ability to guide others in applying principles of cultural safety in practice.
- At least four years post registration experience in the New Zealand’s healthcare context.
- Proven experience as a nurse educator
- A proven record of facilitating and record in facilitating and assessing learning, mentorship, and coaching activities.
- Demonstrated ability in meeting the requirements for an expert/senior level on the Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP).
- Excellent skills in relationship management, interpersonal communication, and negotiation.
- An adult teaching and assessing qualification, such as preceptorship or adult education qualification
- Evidence of successful study at a postgraduate level.
- Current New Zealand drivers licence
