We are currently seeking an experienced Receptionist to come and join us, so if you are looking for variety and excitement and the chance to be part of a friendly, multi-cultural and hardworking team then read on as we have a fantastic opportunity for you.

As ‘the face of the service’ we are looking for that exceptional administrative professional who is seeking a challenge in a new environment. Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager and working as part of a team you will bring a flexible, customer focused approach to your role which will be responsible for:

  • All reception duties including meeting and greeting and telephone
  • Updating patient arrivals and departures in the Patient Management System
  • Preparing patient charts and packs (labels etc) for all outpatient and procedure room attendances
  • Processing all outpatient follow-ups and other tasks associated with patient contacts such as reminders, cancellations and rescheduling
  • Team support – assisting team members to meet the objectives of the Service.

This is a part time position based at Middlemore Hospital, working 24 hours a week Monday to Wednesday, 8 hours per day and hours of work is negotiable

You will have exceptional computer skills and personal qualities which enable you to work effectively in a complex and changing environment. Attention to detail is essential as is the ability to set priorities and manage your time effectively. Ideally you will have experience in a health care setting and knowledge of medical terminology would be an advantage.

Essential:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a service- based environment and administrative experience
  • Previous experience working in a complex and changing environment
  • Highly effective communication skills, written and verbal
  • Problem solving skills using Initiative

The salary range is dependent on skills and experience and will be paid in line with the National Administration Collective Agreement.
