Mō te tūranga mahi | About the role
As the Release Train Engineer (RTE), you will lead and guide the Data & Integration Agile Release Train (ART). Your role involves coordinating important events, encouraging teamwork, handling risks, and promoting ongoing improvement.
The Data and Integration ART focuses on:
- Supporting the delivery of timely and accurate enterprise data and reporting to support ACC business objectives, and
- Managing and delivering critical links between ACC core systems and our Clients, Partners and Providers, building out and maturing the ACC integrated fabric.
Utilising your SAFe expertise, you will implement Lean-Agile principles to ensure the ART operates smoothly within the Lean Portfolio governance framework and share leadership responsibilities with the Product Manager and System Architect.
- Make decisions for the ART and support outcomes aligned with the vision and strategy.
- Role model Lean-Agile ways of working and coach the business on continuous delivery benefits.
- Lead PI Planning and SAFe events, fostering cross-team collaboration.
- Coordinate team resourcing, recruitment, contracts, and partnerships.
- Work with Agile Coaches to embed Lean-Agile mindsets and practices.
- Resolve and escalate ART impediments when needed.
- Track and communicate key ART metrics.
- Ensure alignment of strategy and execution with ART Leadership.
- Provide assurance that risks are managed effectively within the five lines of assurance.
- Champion ACC's strategy, Huakina Te Rā and promote diversity and inclusion.

- You will be an experienced leader in Lean-Agile methodologies with the following experience:
- Proven ability to co-lead a team with a collaborative approach.
- Proven experience in complex enterprise product delivery.
- Excellent planning, financial management, and organisational skills.
- Proven experience in technical (preferable data and integration) delivery.
- Experience in new methodology adoption and influencing behaviours.
- Optimising value flow by removing impediments and risk reduction.
- Systems thinker with prioritisation, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Proven success in leading and motivating large teams.
- Well-developed engagement skills at senior management and executive levels.
- Active commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi.
- Dedication to improving relationships with Māori.
Mō ACC | Working at ACC
The base salary range for this role is $138,301 to $178,977 dependant on skills and experience of the successful applicant. ACC also offers an additional 9% superannuation.
