Your Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage robotic welding processes to ensure they meet consistent, high-quality weld requirements.
- Periodically operate the robot as required
- Create welding programs for new parts on the robot welding cells. Optimise old programs to ensure consistent quality and processes are followed
- Provide training to production staff on the operation of the robotic welding process to ensure cross-skilling across the business
- Analyze production workflows and identify opportunities for improvement within the production process.
- Design, develop, and implement automated solutions that align with the goal of more automation and less labour input
- Liaising with engineers to develop these solutions
- Plan and oversee the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
- Design and develop fixturing and tooling to improve production workflow. Ensuring fixturing improves efficiency and quality
- Maintain, develop and support the quality system, ensuring consistent product output. Utilizing root cause analysis, SPC (Statistical Process Control)
- Create, review and improve process documentation when required
- Support Lean methodology, continuous improvement and reducing waste
You must have
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Mechatronics or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of Robotics/ Programming within Manufacturing (ideally robot welding)
- Mechanical Design experience ideally with Solidworks
- A keen aptitude to learn and become a welding expert
- Continuous improvement and problem solving within a production environment
