Site Manager

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Manager to oversee construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a qualification in a relevant field or a carpentry background, with at least 4 years of experience working with 1st or 2nd tier contractors. Our Client brings a nationwide presence means we have the capacity to undertake projects throughout much of New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Management: Oversee all aspects of construction projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.
• Sub-Contractor Management: Monitor and control sub-contractors to ensure compliance with project timelines and quality standards.
• Technical Support: Provide technical knowledge and guidance to engineering and building teams.
• Health and Safety: Ensure that all projects are conducted in accordance with the latest Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations.
• Structural Experience: Must have experience with structural elements in commercial builds.
• Licence: A Building Practitioner licence is preferred but not essential.
• IT Skills: Proficient in MS Office suite for effective communication and project management.
• Residential Experience: High-end residential experience is advantageous, particularly in the New Zealand market.

Core Skills

• Experience with Tier Contractors: Proven experience working with 1st or 2nd tier contractors.
• Commercial Build Experience: Strong background in commercial construction projects.
• Structural Knowledge: In-depth understanding of structural elements in building projects.
• OH&S Compliance: Up-to-date knowledge of OH&S regulations and practices.
• Sub-Contractor Management: Ability to effectively manage and coordinate sub-contractors.
• Technical Expertise: Provide technical support to engineering and building teams.
• IT Proficiency: Solid skills in MS Office suite for project management and communication.

Qualifications

• Qualification Level: Qualified in a relevant field or with a carpentry background.
• Experience: At least 4 years of experience in construction management.
