Sous Chef - Hanmer Springs

  • Live and work in this picturesque thermal town close to ski fields, mountain biking and hiking trails, fly fishing and of course those wonderful hot pools
  • Accommodation available in a room on your own for $180p/w including power +wifi
  • Full time & permanent $30 - $32 p/h

This is a rare treat for a hardworking career-minded Sous Chef to be working in a highly successful gastro pub, alongside a great team who will rally around you.
In this full-time opportunity you will be working right in the heart of Hanmer Springs. This bar and restaurant is THE destination. One of those rare places where both customers and staff really want to be for good times and awesome hospitality. It produces all the local fare and substantial platters perfect for sharing.
Hanmer Springs is 90 minutes north of Christchurch and a place that offers you therapeutic hot pools and lot of outdoor adventure.
The menu serves up powerful flavours and firm favourites, this role is for up to 45-50 hours per week at an hourly rate.
This is an opportunity for a chef who is passionate, has a strong work ethic and can handle volume in those busy pressure moments
The key to this position is adaptability to be able to fit in to different operating environments - and build a rapport with teams quickly but over all you must have sound food knowledge, a consistent production of good quality food and be confident with grills, pans and fryers.
