Job Description

Our client is looking for an Accounting Administrator that supports the financial operations of the organisation by ensuring efficient, accurate, and compliant accounting processes. They will handle tasks such as processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and preparing reports to facilitate informed decision-making. This is a Part time role 12-15 Hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Record Keeping:

    • Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers and journals.
    • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  2. Invoice Management:

    • Process incoming invoices and ensure timely payments.
    • Prepare and send invoices to customers and follow up on overdue accounts.
  3. Account Reconciliation:

    • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
    • Reconcile discrepancies in financial statements or records.
  4. Compliance and Reporting:

    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organisational policies.
    • Prepare financial reports, summaries, and other documentation as required.
  5. Payroll Assistance:

    • Assist in payroll processing by verifying time sheets and employee reimbursements.
    • Handle tax filings and other payroll-related compliance matters.
  6. Administrative Duties:

    • Coordinate with other departments to gather necessary financial data.
    • Manage and organise accounting files and records.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
    • A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in XERO
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office tools.
  • Analytical Abilities:
    • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial work.
    • Ability to analyse and resolve discrepancies effectively.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in accounting or finance administration is required.

Work Environment:

  • Typically works in an office setting.
