Mō te tūnga | About the role
You will be responsible for processing supplier invoices and are to ensure accurate, timely and effective invoice management as part of the Accounts Payable Team with the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF). This is a key position to ensure that NZDF meets its obligations to all suppliers and customers, while striving to provide continuous top-notch customer service.
A typical day could include:
- Communicating with suppliers and NZDF buyers to resolve unpaid invoice issues.
- Processing invoices for both domestic and international suppliers.
- Verifying, processing and reconciling invoices against monthly statements.
This role is based full time in our office in Trentham, Upper Hutt. There is free on site parking available.
This is a fixed term position until 30 June 2025 to provide parental leave cover. Flexible days/hours are negotiable.

To be eligible for the required level of government security clearance with the NZ Defence Force, you need to meet certain citizenship and residency criteria. Here's what you need to know:
Low Level Security Clearance
- You must be a New Zealand citizen or you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa.
- At minimum, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last five (5) years.
- You must have a five (5) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
