Acute Clinician CAT Mental Health

  • Fixed Term 12 months parental leave
  • Nelson location
  • Role for an experienced and resilient Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker able to manage a mixed caseload.

About the Role

Our Adult Community Mental Health teams provide high-quality comprehensive assessment and treatment for adults and their families living in the Nelson/Tasman region.

As an Acute Clinician you will work a 24/7 roster responding to clients in crisis. This will include overnight on call and receiving triaged referrals from Home Care Medical (HCM), NMDHB Triage Service, and assessment of acute presentations in response to referrals from ED, GPs and Police.

About you

  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
  • You will be an experienced MH professional with the confidence to work autonomously and the resilience to manage a mixed case load.
  • You will have current knowledge of mental health and associated issues and addictions clinical experience is also desirable.  
  • Whilst we are looking for an experienced practitioner - we also recruit for attitude.
