About the role

The AIR Administrator will support and work in partnership with the AIR Coordinator; to support timely and accurate data record related to the provision of childhood and adult immunisations.

This role will:

  • ensure AIR provides an accurate record of immunisations and is used as an effective planning tool to improve immunisation coverage, achievement of health targets and DHB performance expectations with an equity focus
  • effectively communicate across the Vaccine Preventable Disease Service stakeholders
  • provide high quality administration to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
  • promote the Aotearoa Immunisation Register in accordance with the AIR Operations Manual
  • ensure effective district day to day leadership and co-ordination of the AIR
  • be responsible for promoting excellence aligned to high quality administration processes and systems.

About you

You must be a team player with strong written and verbal communication skills, who has a high attention to detail. Our ideal candidate needs to be able to prioritise and juggle tasks, within demanding timeframes. You will have at least two years administrative experience ideally within the healthcare sector.

You will be an experienced administrator who works well in a team environment with the ability to foster good interpersonal relationships.

Our successful applicant will have the following:

  • Administration experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills including sound knowledge of Microsoft word, excel and outlook
  • The ability to learn quickly
  • Outstanding organisation and time management skills
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings

Salary range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the expired PSA and Te Whatu Ora National Health Administration Workers Collective Agreement and the salary will be in accordance with the National Administration and Clerical Pay Scale, Band 4A between Step 1 ($70,970) and Step 3 ($73,941) per annum pro-rata dependant on relevant experience.
