Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are seeking an experienced administrator to come and join our close knit administration team at Te Whare o Matairangi. The administrator role is responsible for the effective and efficient provision of all administrative services within the unit.
Day to day duties include:
- Liaising with clinicians and other health professionals to ensure clients - needs are met
- Administration of the Mental Health Act
- Providing administrative support to the Team Leader
- Maintaining and updating clients electronic and physical health records
- Actively contributing to Quality Improvement activities within the service, identifying opportunities for improvement
- Covering reception when required
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
Te Whare O Matairangi is the adult mental health in-patient unit situated on the Wellington Regional Hospital campus. Te Whare O Matairangi is funded to provide 29 beds and provides services for people experiencing an episode of acute mental illness that requires a safe environment with intensive nursing and medical treatment.
The unit is staffed with 3 Psychiatrists, over 45 Nursing staff, and in addition there are Occupational Therapists, a Clinical Psychologist, Social Workers, Mental Health Support Workers and Administration staff.
Our administration team is made up of 5 admin/reception staff. We work collaboratively as a team amongst ourselves and within the wider MHAIDS service to contribute to better outcomes for all our clients.
Moū - About you
To be successful in this role you will have a friendly and professional manner, experience working in a similar administration role and be a proactive team player. Along with being able to multi task and think on your feet you will have a level of resilience to work in a challenging environment while remaining calm under pressure. Knowledge and understanding of the Mental Health Act is preferred but not essential.
