About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Administrator to join our team. This is a job share position with plenty of opportunity to learn and work in all admin areas of Thames Hospital. Thames ED is at the front entrance to the hospital so this role is an integral part of the hospital community. The role is busy and full of variety. Your role is to ensure the consumers, and their whanau have a positive experience and that the clinical staff are supported.

About Thames
Thames Hospital is a modern 50-bed secondary care facility offering a comprehensive range of services, including an emergency department, inpatient care, day surgery, an infusion unit, rehabilitation services, birthing unit and low-acuity mental health care. Our hospital boasts 24-hour laboratory and radiology services, including advanced CT imaging. As an accredited training hub, we support 5th and 6th-year medical students from Auckland University, PGY2 House Officers, and registrars in Rural Hospital Medicine and General and Acute Care Medicine. We offer a robust quality improvement program, CME opportunities, and an RMO teaching program. Telehealth is expanding at Thames, supporting inpatient care, outpatient clinics, and emergency services like stroke thrombolysis.

About you
The Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role are:
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Excellent communication skills with a pleasant telephone manner
- Strong customer service focus
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
- Well developed clerical skills, previous health care administration experience would be an advantage
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Empathetic
- Quick to learn new systems
- Calm under pressure
