About the Role
Key functions of the role are to work closely with the Fracture Liaison Nurse and Community Strength and Balance Coordinator to ensure that registries are maintained, ACC data is captured, and reports are generated. As part of a wider administration team, other duties could include reception cover, referral receiving and entry, ACC claim identification, communicating across internal and community stakeholders, scheduling meetings and taking minutes, and general administrative duties.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of older people in Tairawhiti.

Te Ara Tiaki Pakeke, Healthy Ageing service has been established to work in collaboration with older people, their whanau, health stakeholders, and the wider community to enable older people to get access to health services and supports which enable them to “live well, age well and have a respectful end of life in age-friendly communities”. This administration role is focused on our contractual obligations to our ACC contracts for the Fracture Liaison and Community Strength and Balance services as part of a wider administration team.

About you
The successful candidate will be passionate about enabling the delivery of the highest possible standards of healthcare for older people in our community. You will enjoy working as part of a team supporting skilled health professionals to deliver on the aspirations of the service. .

- Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital-based administration role
- Proven knowledge of all Windows-based applications (MS Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
- Proven organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills, including the ability to prioritise appropriately
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- A positive attitude to go the extra mile to assist others
- Competency with Te Ao Māori, Tikanga, and Te Reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings
- A “can do” attitude
- Ability to navigate and welcome change as the service continues to grow and develop
- Ability to engage with different team members, patients and whanau
- High trust and reliability
- Knowledge of ACC would be an advantage but not required as training will be provided
