Contract: Rostered and rotating permanent full time position (1 FTE )
Salary: NZNO or PSA MH Nursing MECA based on skills and experience
Step 1 to step 7 - Pro Rata for part time
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are looking for enthusiastic, innovative and committed registered nurses with a passion or desire to work in a specialised area of Mental Health to join the Forensic team.
We aim to facilitate assessment, treatment and recovery by employing a holistic array of interventions to help people. We are guided by relational security aspects of care to promote safety and protection for all. We offer an MDT approach to specialised assessment and care for adults who are admitted through the courts or prisons. We work within a framework of clinical governance and are a progressive service committed to providing a culture of ongoing professional development for staff through regular supervision, an excellent professional development and recognition programme (PDRP), regular in-service training and support towards external training.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
Forensic inpatient units is a regional service with 19 male beds in Purehurehu and 24 mixed gender beds at Rangipapa. Operating as a 24hour service at Ratonga Rua o Porirua Hospital Campus. Forensic inpatient services provides treatment, assessment and rehabilitation for patients who are required to undergo psychiatric assessment prior to a court hearing and also for those committed to a mental health facility under the Criminal Procedures (Mentally Impaired Persons) Act 2003 or Mental Health (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act 1992.
Moū - About you
We are looking for an innovative and committed Registered Nurse who has a genuine interest or passion for Forensic Mental Health Nursing.
Essential Professional Qualification/Accreditation's/Registrations:
- Registration with the NCNZ as an RN
- A current practising certificate
- Successful completion of the NESP (Nurse Entry to Specialised Practice)
- Active involvement and progression with PDRP.
