At Manatū Hauora – Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance. We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters.

 

The Regulatory Stewardship team is responsible for shaping and providing advice on the regulatory settings for the health system in order to improve health outcomes. The team will be leading oversight of the Ministries regulatory stewardship responsibilities aligned with its role in providing for effective regulation of health and care service providers, therapeutic products and services. The team will act to improve the delivery of current regulatory services in the Ministry as well as having an eye to the future regulatory opportunities and challenges.   

 

Ko ake mahi - What you'll do

You will play a key role in shaping the future of health regulation by supporting the development and implementation of strategic regulatory stewardship initiatives. You'll contribute to co-designing a forward-thinking regulatory strategy and help establish a community of practice for regulatory functions.

 

Working closely with Senior Advisors and the Chief Regulatory Officer, you'll provide input on regulatory assurance programmes, risk management, opportunities for improvement, and ensure the timely delivery of key projects. Additionally, you'll build strong relationships across the Ministry and external stakeholders to foster collaboration and drive continuous improvement in regulatory processes and frameworks.
