Aluminium Fabricator/Leading Hand
Seeking for a Fabricator/Leading Hand to join our client in Tauranga. In this role you will be dedicated and passionate about the industry and leading a small team while diving into hands-on fabrication. This role will include managing workloads to include planning, quotes, project management along with a hands on approach to ensure schedules are met and maintain the highest quality standards while prioritizing safety at every step.  
The Role:
  • Lead the Team: Oversee workload and support a small group of fabricators, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and helping them stay motivated and on track.
  • Safety First: Champion a culture of safety by conducting regular safety briefings, ensuring all team members are equipped with the necessary protective gear, and promoting best practices on the job site.
  • Quality Assurance: Make sure all our products meet top-notch quality standards while adhering to safety regulations.
  • Engage with Customers: Handle inquiries and provide quotes, ensuring a positive experience for our clients.
  • Material Procurement: Assist in sourcing the materials we need to get the job done right, while considering safety in handling and storage.
  • Site Visits: Conduct visits to measure and quote jobs, ensuring we fully understand client needs and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Hands-On Fabrication: Utilize hydraulic guillotines, hydraulic folders, brake presses, and welding techniques (MIG and TIG) to fabricate aluminum products in line with customer requirements, always prioritizing safety in operations.
  • Read Drawings: Interpret technical drawings and metric sizes accurately.

You’ll bring with you:
  • At least 5 years of experience in aluminum sheet metal fabrication.
  • A strong focus on safety and a commitment to following health and safety practices in all aspects of work.
  • Leadership skills to guide and inspire your team while emphasizing safe work habits.
  • Experience with aluminum roof flashings and welding/fabrication techniques.
  • Great organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • A customer-first attitude and excellent communication skills.
