Aluminium Fabricator

Position Overview: As an Aluminium Fabricator at our Dunedin facility, you'll be pivotal in achieving production targets and delivering exceptional window systems. Your role will focus on maintaining high safety and quality standards, contributing to a 'safety first' culture, and ensuring adherence to our clients Health and Safety policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Production and Manufacturing:
- Lead by example, upholding our clients core values in all team interactions.
- Process aluminium products efficiently to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Conduct regular maintenance on machinery, including blades and lubricants.
- Communicate regularly with the Supervisor/Manager regarding job orders and product issues.
- Assist with problem-solving and offer support as needed.
Planning:
- Maintain effective communication with the Supervisor/Manager regarding job priorities and product availability.
- Report any production issues and trends to the Supervisor/Manager in a timely manner.
- Identify operational issues and their impact on customer orders.
- Support stock taking and attend weekly production meetings to ensure stock levels meet production schedules.
Health & Safety:
- Exhibit visible safety leadership and support a 'safety first' culture.
- Adhere to health and safety management systems and ensure safety is prioritized in all operations.
- Manage risk through proactive identification of hazards and implementation of controls.
- Address safety concerns, challenge unsafe practices, and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Utilize Health and Safety Management software to streamline risk management and internal processes.
- Oversee annual health and safety plans, complete risk assessments, and participate in safety meetings.
General:
- Maintain high professional standards and represent our client positively.
- Provide regular reports as required by management.
- Perform additional duties as reasonably requested by your Manager or Supervisor.
Person Specification:
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Experience in the building industry, aluminium joinery, fabrication, or engineering.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read shop drawings and workshop manuals.
- Proven teamwork skills.
- Strong multitasking abilities and commitment to service excellence.
- Effective communication skills.
Additional Information:
- A clean MOJ check and successful pre-employment drug and alcohol screening are required.
