    Description

    The Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine, Heath New Zealand, Counties Manukau District is delighted to invite applications for our 2025 Fellowship roles


    As a prominent ANZCA accredited teaching hospital in metropolitan Auckland, and one of the busiest acute surgical centres in Australasia, we are well-placed to offer unparalleled opportunities for your growth and learning.


    With 24 theatres across 2 sites, we are a regional tertiary referral centre for acute spine, pelvic trauma, mangled limb and reconstructive surgery, and are home to the National Burns Centre, delivering world- class burns trauma care to New Zealand, the Pacific and Tahiti. Additionally, we provide support to a bustling Obstetric Unit with over 7000 deliveries per annum, many of which are complex.


    Despite our busy setting, we excel in fostering a warm and welcoming environment reminiscent of a true general hospital. Our fellowships are overseen by specialist passionate about teaching innovation in their respective fields, and who strive to provide the ideal environment for you to advance your expertise.


    As part of the team, you will be working alongside a cohesive group of clinicians who pride themselves in delivering quality, equity-focused care to our diverse population.


    Our fellowships are specifically structures to offer a broad-based anaesthetic experience, with the ability to gain additional proficiency in our highly regarded subspecialty areas. Your work pattern will incorporate supervised lists, independent lists and clinics, plus dedicated time for professional development. Teaching, trainee supervision and research/audit actives will round out a comprehensive years' experience.


    We are seeking motivated and energetic individuals for our pre-approved ANZCA training positions (12 months, fixed-term, from end of January 2025)

    PLEASE INDICATE YOUR PREFERENCE/S OF ROLES IN YOUR APPLICATION.

    The ideal candidate will be:

    ·
    Eligible to enter provisional fellow year (PFY) or first year post FANZCA (ANZCA)

    ·
    ST6/ST7 or post CCT (UK) OR EQUIVALENT.

    We welcome international applicants with equivalency of experience, provided eligibility criteria for registration with the Medical Council New Zealand can be met.
