About the Role

The purpose of this position is to provide safe operational anaesthetic and ancillary equipment to anaesthetists in operating theatre. In this role you will provide direct clinical assistance to anaesthetists and intensivists maintaining a high standard of patient care.

You will be a part of an integrated operating theatre team with a commitment to ensuring efficient functioning of the operating theatre.

These are permanent full-time opportunities however, we also welcome applicants who prefer to work part time.

About Location

We have opportunities in Whangarei Hospital, Northland as well as in Kaitaia Hospital, Far North depending on your preferred base location.

If you choose Whangarei as your base location, you also have the option of working in Kaitaia for a few days so that you can spend some time in the Far North to explore the beautiful surroundings. The same applies if you choose Kaitaia as the base location.

About you

  • Certificate/Diploma in Anaesthetic Technology or equivalent
  • Registered with the Medical Science Council of New Zealand with a current practicing certificate
  • Demonstrate an ability to practice in a culturally safe manner
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
