Health NZ Nelson Marlborough is looking for a Specialist Anaesthetist to join our team.  You will join a team of nineteen experienced and supportive SMO colleagues and one ANZCA trainee.  You will be working within a secondary care setting participating in the anaesthetic roster, covering planned care and acute theatre sessions, anaesthesia after-hours on call support, anaesthetic pre-assessment clinics and working as the duty anaesthetist. 

In this role, you will provide support to other departments including obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, dental, mental health and the emergency department. Our department also provides anaesthesia for visiting subspecialty surgeons in paediatric surgery, paediatric orthopaedic surgery, plastics, and maxillofacial surgery.

We are looking for a specialist who is ready to bring their skills and experience to a smaller provincial hospital and enjoy the lifestyle that this affords. You will be vocationally registered with the NZ Medical Council and hold Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA), or equivalent, or be -eligible for the same. Postgraduate fellowship training is desirable.

The salary for this position will be as per the current senior medical and dental officer collective agreement dependent on skills, experience and gaining full vocational registration in NZ. You will also have access to up to 10 days CME Leave and an allowance to put towards your continued medical education.
