Job Description
H2R Consulting are looking immediately for Assistant Accountant level candidates for a 6 month temp role. This person will have the oportunity to apply to go permanent.
What is required / the role:
- Assist in maintaining the general ledger by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate recording of transactions.
- All financial transactions processed accurately and within established deadlines.
- Processing is accurate
- Processing takes place within the organisation’s policies and procedures.
- All processing is completed only after appropriate approval has been granted.
- All stakeholder queries are resolved satisfactorily.
- Month end process is completed in accordance with set timelines.
- Processing completed in accordance with statutory and regulatory timeframes.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and processes.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Willingness to put in extra effort to meet deadlines.
- Accuracy with numbers, attention to detail and an analytical approach.
- Good interpersonal skills including oral and written communication.
- Ability to accept and learn from positive and constructive feedback.
- Experience in working with financial processes.
- Experience with MS office products including intermediate level Excel skills.
- Customer focused approach, good customer services skills (e.g. dealing with people and problem resolution).
- Experience in processing and dealing with customers / vendors.
- Ability to adapt, learn and develop.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and effective working in a team.
