About the Role
As an Associate Clinical Nurse Manager (ACNM) in the General Surgical & Gynaecological (GSG) Ward, you will be the senior nurse on the floor, managing the day to day business of our ward. This is an exciting role where you will use your communication skills, to manage and support staff, patient flow, and deal with any issues that transpire during the shift.
You will assist to provide clinical and professional leadership to the team, developing the nursing service, ensuring quality standards are met and contributing to the strategic direction for the General Surgical & Gynaecological (GSG) Ward.
You will do this with the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM), managing and leading the people, systems, processes and resources that facilitate clinically safe, efficient and effective service delivery across the General Surgical & Gynaecological (GSG) Ward.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The General Surgical & Gynaecological (GSG) Ward at Hutt Hospital is an adult 27 bed unit. We admit 24/7 acute and elective cases. Cases include upper and lower GI surgery and conditions, breast surgery and conditions, gynaecology surgery and conditions and we take overflow from other units including the medical, orthopaedic and plastics wards.
About you
- You will have at least 2 years postgraduate experience in an acute setting.
- Previous experience in the ACNM role.
- You be committed to ongoing professional development.
- Have excellent communication and people skills.
- Will be organised and responsive to change.
- You will easily build and maintain excellent relationships with services and people, in and outside of the ward.
