About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Booking Clerk Team Leader to join our Chronic Conditions services here at Waikato Hospital.
As a successful Booking Clerk Team Leader you will play a key role in improving systems and contribute to developing a cohesive and effective team.
Day to day you will be providing coordination and management of the administration teams providing administrative assistance to the management team including production of reports, correspondence and other administrative functions. This is an interesting and varied role and you will be working with a multidisciplinary team, providing support to the clinical teams and having some visitor and patient interaction.
This is a full FTE (40 hours per week), permanent position where you will work Monday to Friday, mainly between 8:00 and 16:30 (please note these hours are subject to change).
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Accountable for day to day leadership and daily operational management of the team
- Monitoring daily work flows and supporting the team to ensure operational targets are being met and daily tasks are co-ordinated, completed and understood.
- Recruitment, orientation, performance management, development and mentoring of team members.
- Working with medical teams to ensure rosters for the senior and junior medical teams are finalized and updating these on the rostering system (WhoIsOn)
- Ensuring that the general administrative matters required within medical services are completed including timesheets, leave notification, rostering support and expense claims.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Chronic Conditions services include Renal Medicine, Rheumatology, Diabetes, and Endocrinology Services. All services are committed to provide the best care and outcomes for people living with chronic conditions. Our services are led by multidisciplinary clinical teams consisting of doctors, nurses and allied health professionals.
About you
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic team leader with:
- Previous experience leading a team and/or proven experience in similar senior administration roles.
- Previous experience or exposure to the health environment (desirable)
- Organised and have excellent attention to detail
- Highly competent in computer literacy
- Excellent communication skills
- Have an ability to use initiative and be proactive in problem solving skills
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
