- Part time 0.8 FTE, 32 hours a week
Our Breast Care Services Outpatient Department is looking for an enthusiastic, flexible administrator with a can-do attitude. This multidisciplinary team is a dynamic, busy and rewarding place to work.
Mō te tūranga - About the role
This role will effectively contribute to the smooth running of the outpatient's service by providing an efficient and timely administrative support function that is responsive and flexible to the changing needs of the service/organisation.
The Booking Administrator ensures our patients have a stress-free journey our outpatient service, and the appointment scheduling and process is achieved in a timely and accurate manner utilising the patient administration system.
Tasks include but are not limited to the following:
- Greeting patients on entry to Outpatient Service, confirming/updating details
- Receive referrals for the Breast Care Outpatient Service via Southern electronic systems, email and mail
- Load patient bookings into the waitlist and ensure appointments processed according to triaged urgency
- Coordinate the patient's follow-up health journey per clinical instruction
- Provide further high-quality administrative support to the Breast Care Outpatients service

Mōu ake - About you
You must be a team player with strong communication skills, who understands and appreciates the need for attention to detail. You must also be comfortable interacting with a variety of people and attending to issues that arise - usually at the same time!
To succeed in this role, you will also need to have:
- at least two years administrative and customer service experience
- excellent time management, prioritisation, interpersonal and organisational skills
- the ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
- strong computer skills, these are essential.

Utu whānui - Salary range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the PSA South Island Clerical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and the salary will be in accordance with the National Health Administration Workers Pay Scale, Band 5B between $74,090 and $77,200 p.a pro rata dependant on relevant experience.
