Position Purpose
The role sits within Our Client's Change and Transformation Team's Wellington branch.
The team have a requirement for an experienced business test lead to execute testing with their business on critical projects.
The Business Test Lead is responsible for:
- Documenting the overall test strategy, test plan and run sheet.
- Input and maintain requirement traceability matrix for user acceptance testing and joint user acceptance testing.
- Managing the test environment set ups including data cuts, refreshes and code deployment.
- Understanding the business requirements and converting them to test cases.
- Leading the user acceptance testing activities including test execution with business users and defect retesting.
- Assigning tasks, managing workloads, and mentoring test analysts.
- Creation and/or sourcing of test data.
- Defect triage, tracking and issue resolution.
- Writing regular status reports for testing progress including defect reporting.
- Knowledge of the project risk assessments for testing and ability to identify and escalate any risks in a timely manner.
- Leading client engagement for all joint testing activities.
- Compiling test completion reports.
- Contributing to project post implementation reviews and reporting outcomes to the business test team.
- Contributing to continuous improvement of the testing practice.
Responsibilities
• Controlling – keep projects on track by:
o Measuring: checking test progress toward meeting its objectives.
o Evaluating: determining the cause of deviations from the plan.
o Correcting: Taking corrective actions to address deviations by managing risks and issues.
o Achieving the above by defining baselines, tracking test progress, and test status reporting, determining, and taking corrective actions.
• Stakeholder Management:
o Working with project managers, business analysts, test analysts, operational teams, and subject matter experts.
o Working with IT locally & globally
o Business partnering with stakeholders internally and externally (clients, vendors, regulators).

Experience and Qualifications required
- 5 years + testing experience with minimum of 2 years in a test lead role.
- Experience working with an offshore team.
- Experience in Customer (internal/external) facing roles.
- Working knowledge of IT systems and environments.
- Experience with end-to-end unit price testing within financial institutions.
- Experience with applications like Octane / JIRA / Confluence.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of custodian and/or funds management administration.
- Tertiary qualification in IT.
