At the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) | Te Tira Tiaki, our mission is to protect and enhance Aotearoa New Zealand's security and wellbeing. We provide Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and cyber security and resilience for organisations of national significance. Our mission is to provide our customers with intelligence advantage and cyber resilience to successfully navigate an unpredictable world.
We are looking for a positive and organised business coordinator with initiative, confidence and experience to join our Legal and Compliance Directorate in Wellington. You will work on a range of things across the Directorate, and work closely with our leaders to help our teams run. We can't reveal all the details of what you'll work on, but it will be interesting, varied and important.
The role - key responsibilities
- Coordinate a variety of business activity, like Directorate planning and reporting, budgeting, workflows, information management, maintaining registers, and coordinating Directorate input for organisational processes and projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across and outside the GCSB and take the lead on some key external engagements.
- Provide targeted executive support to Directorate leaders to enable them in their management and governance roles.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for someone who is positive, organised, confident to use their initiative and thrives working in a busy team with a varied workload. You'll be a great communicator, both in person and in writing. Ideally you'll have 3 to 5 years experience in coordination roles, with public sector experience being particularly useful.

Before you apply
Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment.
You must:
- Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years
OR
Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years
- Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance
- Ordinarily, this means you'll have a 15 year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.
