The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is the heart of Aotearoa New Zealand's cyber defence. We fulfil the cyber security responsibilities of the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) | Te Tira Tiaki, to detect and disrupt high-impact cyber threats for nationally significant organisations.

Why work for us

The role

This is a fantastic, fixed term opportunity (or secondment) seeing you through until the end of December 2025. The reason for this opportunity is to cover a secondment.

This position is the key to linking the wider Intelligence Community (IC) to the individual branches of NCSC. You will help manage the administration and delivery of the important mahi that the NCSC do, whether that is organising, planning or following up on management meetings, supporting the team by coordinating and aligning calendars and assisting with event planning.

As the "go to" person for many, you will be comfortable dealing with people at all levels and from varying backgrounds.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with the Business Development & Delivery Lead to provide support to the Directorate, working to agreed timeframes and standards
  • Providing occasional secretariat support including minute taking and following up on action points
  • Helping arrange travel, meetings and meeting materials
  • Assist with coordinating key leadership and Directorate-wide workshops and conferences
  • On-boarding new NCSC staff

Who we're looking for

We are looking for someone who has a great attitude and is good at getting things done. Personable, flexible and adaptable, you will be quick at learning new ways of working and adjusting your approach where needed.

Before you apply

Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment. You must:

  • Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years
    OR
Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years

The NZIC treats all applications for employment in the strictest confidence and we expect that you maintain a similar level of confidentiality during the recruitment process and throughout your career.

We'll provide you with information and tips throughout the recruitment process, but in the meantime check out our Myth Busting booklet here.
