Job Description
If you're a hungry and experienced sea freight operations expert with a sales background looking for something new in the freight industry, look here.
About the Company:
This multinational freight forwarder operates within a unique section of the freight market. Heavily servicing Australia and New Zealand, they take pride in their tenured and experienced teams. With a focus on innovation and customer care, they make logistics seamless, timely and reliable for their customers.
As they continue to grow in the New Zealand market, they’re looking to expand their Sales team in Auckland and provide you a move out of the standard grind of a normal freight sales role, with the chance to be the face of their New Zealand business.
About the Role:
As the Business Development Executive, you’ll report directly to the General Manager for Cargo Development. The role will inherit an established portfolio of existing clients, with significant potential for growth, and the chance to be the face of the business. Your role will be a blend of:
- Key Account Management: Building on current relationships with regular connections and meetings to understand challenges, future requirements and solving issues.
- Business Development: Establishing new business through regular clients and developing new relationships through consistent face-to-face consulting.
About You:
You'll have a deep understanding of sea freight operations, having ideally worked in a Key Account Management or Sales role before. Experience with Cargowise is desired also. Beyond your experience and knowledge, your success will stem from:
- Willingness to Engage: You proactively engage with clients, addressing issues and challenges head-on.
- Driven Self-Starter: Independently plan and organize your time and goals, driven to achieve KPIs and solve customer problems.
- Curiosity and Willingness to Learn: Your eagerness to learn about clients' businesses and continually deepen your technical knowledge and skills.
What’s on Offer?
This is a rare opportunity to become a deep specialist in the freight forwarding sector, providing valuable advice to customers and contributing to the success of the business. You’ll also have:
- Personal and Professional Development: Significant opportunities for growth with a clear progression line towards leadership as you grow the local business.
- Comprehensive Support: Benefit from extensive onboarding, training, and technical support from a knowledgeable team across New Zealand and Australia.
- Independence: Manage your time independently in an environment that prioritizes outcomes over inputs.
