Job Description

As a Certifying Drainlayer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of civil and drainage projects. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and certification of drainage systems, working closely with a wider team and local authorities to ensure compliance with industry standards. Your expertise in deep trench drainage, water controls, and confined space operations will be key to delivering high-quality results on time and within budget. You will be hands on and solutions based, installing and repairing three water services for new and existing civil construction projects across the wider Hawkes Bay and central North Island.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of drainage systems, ensuring safety and quality standards.
  • Install, repair and remove 3 waters services.
  • Expertly install valves, hydrants and anchor blocks as required.
  • Liaise with local councils for inspections and final sign-off, ensuring work is compliant.
  • Lead deep trench drainage operation, including the use of trench shields and dewatering techniques.
  • Implement effective water control measures to manage site conditions.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Certified Drainlayer (PGDB and or Certificate 4 Civil construction).
  • 5 years + of NZ based experience in drainlaying, including seep trench drainage and water control.
  • 3 Waters experience including in watermain HDPE installation.
  • Proficiency in fusion welding, confined space operations and installation of valves and hydrants.
  • Class 1 License and current unrestricted work rights for NZ.
