Ko te tīma - About your team

We're looking for an experienced financial leader to join our Finance function as the Chief Financial Officer with Wellington or Auckland locations preferred.

The Finance team is part of WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru's Corporate Group providing financial planning, reporting and advice to the organisation.  

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive Corporate, the Chief Financial Officer will provide enterprise leadership to our Business Partnership and Financial Accounting teams, led by the Manager Finance Business Partnership and the Manager Financial Accounting. You will regularly meet with the Executive team and WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru Board as well as key external stakeholders.

As the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for leading a team of skilled finance professionals and managing strategic, commercial and transactional finance and risk management.

You will also support continuous improvement to enable WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru to deliver on our mission of transforming Aotearoa's workplace health and safety performance.

  • Provide strategic and operational direction and oversight to the finance function to ensure coordinated and prioritised enterprise activity.
  • Deliver an independent commercial view of WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru's financial capital and operational expenditure needs.
  • Grow and empower a higher effective team to motivate others to succeed and connect to WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru's purpose and values.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the application of Mātauranga Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi to deliver improved healthy, safe and equitable outcomes for Māori.
  • Build strategic financial leadership, risk management and system capabilities through WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru.

Ko ngā pukenga ōu - What You'll Bring

  • Significant experience operational in an enterprise leadership role within a large organisation.
  • Experience in leading within an organisation undergoing cultural or transformational change.
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated leadership in the application of Mātauranga Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi to support equitable outcomes for all.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing enterprise strategies and turning these into measurable action operational plans.
  • Strong decision making and prioritisation in line with operational objectives.

Awhe utu - Salary range

As part of our remuneration framework the full salary range for the position is from $204,447 to $269,463.  Note: KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contribution is additional to/on top of your base salary.
