About the opportunity:

Our Waikanae client is seeking a Civil Engineer to join their team of land development professionals! The ideal candidate will have experience across land development projects. They’re open to anyone in the market with the right qualifications and experience.

Role description:

You will be working on roading, water and wastewater requirements for projects and are ideally a generalist (covering water, wastewater and roading) or you want to move into a more generalist role. 

Responsibilities will include

  • Develop and manage project plans and budgets for land development projects.

  • Perform site evaluations, feasibility studies, and due diligence investigations.

  • Develop site plans, grading plans, drainage plans, and utility plans using AutoCAD and other software.

  • Coordinate with surveyors, architects, and other design professionals to develop comprehensive site plans and design solutions.

  • Prepare technical reports and documents for regulatory agencies, including permit applications and environmental impact studies.

  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, regulatory requirements, and project schedules.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients, contractors, and project team members.

This role will suit someone with all or some following background/experience/qualities: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field

  • Full or partly qualified

  • CPeng certification (certified engineer) in civil or water

  • Valid New Zealand driver's license

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in land development engineering

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other engineering software

  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and techniques

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Construction project management experience would be ideal but not essential
