Join a leading, 100% NZ owned civil engineering contracting company as Civil Regional Manager for the Hawkes Bay region. With a successful track record of delivering complex civil infrastructure projects across the North Island, including recently in the Hawkes Bay region, the company are well positioned for ambitious strategic growth. With expertise across civil structures, roads and pavements, water infrastructure and maintenance contracts there are strong synergies with current and pending programmes of work locally. The role is well suited to a locally networked Senior Civil Project or Contract Manager with a demonstrable track record of success in delivering high quality project outcomes.
The Opportunity:
As the Civil Regional Manager for Hawkes Bay, you will form a key part of the company leadership and be at the forefront of strategic expansion plans. Your role will be pivotal in developing, managing and leading local operations, ensuring that projects focussed in civil structures, roads and pavements and water infrastructure, are delivered with the highest quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage civil infrastructure projects in the Hawkes Bay region, ensuring high-quality delivery and adherence to project timelines.
- Develop and execute strategic plans for regional growth, aligning with the company’s goals and objectives.
- Develop, lead, mentor, and manage a dynamic team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, clients, and partners.
- Handle tender responses, estimate project costs, and develop strategies for risk mitigation and opportunity maximization.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Operational Expertise: Strong operational field experience in civil construction, with a thorough understanding of construction management principles, planning, and project controls.
- Technical Knowledge: Tertiary qualified Civil Engineer with comprehensive understanding of estimating principles, HSE requirements (including NZ legislative requirements), NZS3910, and claim preparation.
- Local networks: 10 years+ engineering experience in civil construction, including locally in the Hawkes Bay region with a proven track record on projects valued over $10 - $20 Million
- Leadership: Exceptional leadership, people management, and interpersonal skills, with experience in building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- IT skills: Excellent technical and business writing skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality proposals and communications. Highly competent in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Commercial Acumen: Entrepreneurial mindset with high commercial acumen and comfort in establishing and developing business relationships.
- Communication: Personable and effective communicator, able to present credibly to various stakeholders.
