Mō te tūnga - About the Role
Are you looking to contribute to the community in a
meaningful way?
Join our dedicated and hard-working Environmental Services Department and help
maintain our facilities, while providing a suitable environment for
our tūroro (patients) and whānau (families).
You will be part of a small fast paced team that plays an essential part of maintaining Burwood Hospital. The team provides exceptional cleaning services 365 days a year, across both day and night shifts.
You will be responsible for:
- Completing all cleaning tasks to international healthcare standards
- Ensuring daily schedules and tasks are completed within set timeframes
- Operating and maintaining equipment safely around patients and whānau
- Handling cleaning solutions in accordance with
safety protocols
We currently have three roles available:
Casual Cleaner
A casual role has no guaranteed hours or days. In this role you will be
covering sick (oncall) and annual leave. Shifts will be between Monday to
Sunday, 6am to 10pm. You will also have the opportunity to help out the Kitchen
team.
Part time Cleaner - Option 1
0.725FTE (29 hours a week), Permanent role
Sunday - 7am to 12pm and Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday - 6.30am to 3pm.
Part time Cleaner - Option 2
0.525FTE (21 hours a week), Permanent role
Thursday & Friday 6.30am to 3pm and Saturday 7am to 12pm.

Based at Burwood Hospital. Starting
from $23.75 per hour. Based on the Etū Multi-Employer Collective Agreement.
Ko wai koe - About You
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and flexible candidate who is able to bring their passion for cleaning to our Burwood facility. This role will suit a candidate that is looking to help make the Hospital and hygienic and safe space for our patients and whanau.
Full training will be provided to all new staff joining our team.

- Excellent communication skills, customer service and time management skills
- High level of patient confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience as a cleaner, particularly within health, is preferred but not essential.
