Mō te tūranga - About the Role

This role plays a vital part in supporting the General Medicine Department, from an administrative perspective. This role requires you to achieve transcription objectives for the team as well as playing a key role in welcoming patients and whānau to the department.

We are looking for either a candidate that is looking for a full-time role. Hours of work are flexible, but required to work Monday to Friday.

As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement this role has been mapped to National Band 4/Profile 4.

Your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Liaise with patients, clinical and non-clinical staff
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Dictation of letters
  • Managing referral letters
  • Manage patient bookings and appointments
  • Coding and data entry
  • Liaise with clinical staff

Nga Pukenga me te Wheako - Skills and Experience

  • Typing skills (typing speed of 50 - 70 WPM)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Experience with Health Connect South and/or SI PICS systems is desired
  • Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Medical terminology would be very beneficial
