Wairau Radiology is a key part of healthcare services at Wairau Hospital, offering a comprehensive range of imaging to support clinical care for the local community. Our team works collaboratively to deliver a timely, accurate and patient focused imaging services, including X-ray, CT, ultrasound, and mammography dedicating a gold standard service to a diverse patient population.

As a Clinical Assistant - Radiology, you will provide essential support to our radiologists, technicians, and patients, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort during imaging procedures. This is an excellent entry point for those looking to gain experience in a hospital setting, with opportunities for growth and further training.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist Radiology staff in preparing equipment and patients for imaging procedures
- Provide patient care and support ensuring comfort and safety.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of imaging rooms and equipment.
- Perform administrative tasks, including booking appointments and managing patient records.
- Assist with transporting patients to and from the radiology room.
You will participate in a schedule rotating Monday to Sunday shift roster from 8am to 4:30pm.
The full-time equivalent salary range for Clinical Assistants working 80 hours a week is $65,975 to $84,193 (step 1-5) based on the current APEX Medical Imaging Technologist Collective Agreement dependent on skills, experience, and registration in NZ.

Requirements:
- A passion for healthcare and helping others
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effect in a team and maintain in a high level of patient care.
- Previous health experience or qualification are desired but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- Physical fitness to assist with patient handling.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ work visa at the time of applying.
