Ko te kaupapa | About the role
We are seeking a Dietitian to work in our dietetic team across inpatient and outpatient settings in a fixed term position covering parental Leave. This role is suitable for either a new graduate or experienced dietitian as we have the scope with the role to cater to the knowledge and skills of the successful applicant.
We have a small dietitian team and work closely together to deliver the best outcome for the people in our community. Currently the role consists of covering inpatients wards (surgical, medical, stroke/rehab and critical care) as well as a general outpatient clinical case load mainly involving gastrointestinal conditions and malnutrition, however this role could be tailored around the interests of the successful applicant.
The services our team provides include hospital inpatient wards, specialist outpatient clinics and community services inclusive of diabetes, paediatrics, oncology, surgical, general medicine, cardiovascular, enteral feeding, nutrition support, rehabilitation, weight management and mental health. This job requires working closely with other clinical dietitians as well as a part of a wider multi-disciplinary team. Excellent time management, adaptability and communication skills are essential for this role.
If you will be awaiting registration and APC in early 2024, then we would be happy to explore options to start the successful applicant as a Dietitian Assistant in February/March 2024 to enable orientation and handover prior to the parental leave starting.
Salary range is the AHST PSA MECA.

- You must be a qualified Dietitian
- Have experience or demonstrate potential for working in a hospital/DHB setting
- Be endorsed as a Dietitian Prescriber
- Hold the legal right to work in New Zealand
- Hold a New Zealand Drivers License
