Are you a Senior Occupational Therapist looking for the next step? Or are you an Occupational Therapist already in leadership or management and looking to make the move to the Waitematā District? We have a fantastic permanent role for you to consider.

As the Occupational Therapy Clinical Leader you will provide day to day management of staff and resource, ensuring quality service provision, supporting professional and workforce development and involvement in quality work. You will be providing day to day leadership and support to the acute inpatient and rehabilitation teams at North Shore Hospital. You will be working alongside and supporting senior and advanced clinician occupational therapists within each team to support staff and service delivery.

The role requires the 0.8FTE to spread across Monday to Friday to ensure support is available for staff every day.

As part of your role you will provide a minimum of 0.2 FTE of clinical support, which could entail teaching, training, completing audits or providing assessment and treatment to patients.

You will join a fantastic and supportive team of clinical leaders across allied health. You will work closely with the Team Managers and the Professional Clinical Leader to resource, develop and manage your team.

We are looking for someone who is a strong role model, who demonstrates excellent leadership and who is passionate about quality patient care and improving patient pathways and models of care throughout the patient journey.
Our preferred candidate will have over 5 years’ experience in a clinical occupational therapy role and at least 2 years’ experience in a senior clinical leadership role.

You must be able to demonstrate the following key attributes:

  • Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills
  • Good organisational and self-management skills with the ability to effectively manage competing demands and priorities
  • Thrives on change for greater outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving, priority setting and planning
  • Ability to be flexible and work across sites
