About the Role

As the Radiology Clinical Manager you will work in partnership with the Radiology leadership team and provide effective, efficient and responsible clinical leadership and management of Radiology Service, supporting clinicians and managers to meet their accountabilities around patient service provision, delivery, quality and financial targets, and the overall strategic direction of the wider Health System. The role will also provide day to day management to the clinical team leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and management to clinical team leaders within Radiology Services.
  • Collaborate with the Chief of Radiology and Business Manager to foster and support high-performing clinical teams and structures.
  • Collaborate with the Chief of Radiology and Business Manager on the development and implementation of business plans to achieve service delivery objectives, manage resources effectively, and support strategic direction.

About the Service

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Waitaha Canterbury Radiology Service provides diagnostic imaging (including nuclear medicine) and interventional radiology services on a 24 hour, seven day a week basis.

It offers primary, secondary and tertiary care services to the people of Canterbury, to a wider South Island and Chatham Islands population, and in some cases to patients from the North Island.

The service is an established teaching and training centre supporting undergraduate and post- graduate medical training. 

About You

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Manager to lead our Radiology Services team. The Clinical Manager will provide clinical leadership and management across Radiology, including Nuclear Medicine, working in partnership with the Radiology Business Manager and Chief of Radiology. The successful candidate will foster a positive culture, drive continuous quality improvement, and ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality services aligned with Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora, Canterbury - s  vision and values.   • Demonstrated clinical leadership and management experience with high performing teams in health care.
  • Continuous quality improvement, innovation, and initiative.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and manage diverse professional teams.
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to bi-culturalism and good employer policies and practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and shape organisational strategy.
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
