Clinical Nurse Specialist – Whitiora Diabetes Service

  • Monday-Friday
  • Part Time, Fixed Term Role Available! (0.9 FTE)

About the role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced senior nurse with extensive clinical expertise in diabetes, to join the Whitiora Diabetes Service on a fixed term contract.

The role provides clinical expertise and leadership to ensure safe and effective services to patients, family and the wider community. The role has a key focus on supporting people with diabetes and their whaanau in both clinic and inpatient settings. The role also includes the teaching of health professionals and facilitation of both formal and informal learning opportunities.

Our preference is for an experienced nurse working at Clinical Nurse Specialist level with prescribing experience. The candidate will have proven interpersonal and communication skills with a patient focused attitude. 

Additional key requirements for the role:

  • NZ Registered Nurse with a current APC
  • Post graduate diploma in Nursing
  • 5+ years clinical experience in diabetes nursing in NZ
  • Current registration and annual practicing certificate
  • Good time management and the ability to manage work in a planned and coordinated manner
  • Full and clean NZ Driver’s Licence
