We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our dynamic Stroke Service team. This pivotal role will involve working across a variety of settings, including the hospital, community, and primary care, to enhance the management of cerebral vascular disease, particularly focusing on stroke and Transient Ischemic Attacks (TIA). The primary goal is to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions while ensuring that necessary admissions are facilitated smoothly.

The role of the CNS in the Stroke Service is diverse. Working alongside Acute stroke team in leading acute stroke care across the hospital. There is also a non-clinical component contributing to audit, research and teaching.

We require someone with significant hospital experience, knowledge of policy development, surveillance/auditing experience within a hospital setting, able to demonstrate leadership qualities, excellent communication and presentation skills, a team player, computer savvy, and a genuine interest and commitment to quality and service.

Essential:

  • NZ Registered Nurse with Current Annual Practising Certificate
  • 5 + years clinical nursing experience in NZ
  • Stroke nursing experience preferred
  • Postgraduate Qualifications or currently studying towards this or the commitment to pursue relevant PG education
