  • Waikato Hospital, Clinical Research Assistant
  • Part time, 12 month fixed term
  • Join a specialty Cancer and Blood Research team to support a portfolio of sponsored, collaborative and Investigator-led, Phase Ib-III Oncology and Haematology clinical trials.

About the Role

As a Clinical Research Assistant, you will support our Coordinators in a variety of tasks including:

  • Data entry, query resolution and maintaining site files
  • Processing and shipping biological research samples
  • Booking and preparing for patient visits and investigations

The role is busy and varied with a mix of clinical and administrative work, with an opportunity to develop both independently and as part of the team. No two days are ever the same!

About the Team

We are a team of Nurse Coordinators/Research Nurses, Research Coordinators/Assistants, and a Finance/Administration Coordinator. We are part of the Regional Cancer Centre, within Cancer and Chronic Conditions. We work closely with the Medical Oncologists and Haematologists, the Outpatient Department, trial sponsors and Clinical Research Organisations.

About you

As a Clinical Research Assistant, you will need to be a hard-working team player with excellent time management skills, the ability to problem solve and work under pressure when required. You will ideally have experience in clinical research and laboratory sample processing, along with proven computer and administrative skills. 

The right candidate will be welcomed into a supportive team of experienced research staff, provided with an orientation package and encouraged to grow and develop.
