Service/ Department: Integrated Operations Centre

Contract: Permanent, 72 hours per fortnight

About the Role:

Are you a skilled and experienced nurse looking to make a real impact in clinical practice? We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Clinical Resource Nurse to join our team at Hastings Hospital.

In this pivotal role, you will provide after-hours clinical support to staff and patients, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care. As a senior nurse, you will act as a role model, demonstrating leadership, autonomy, and expertise while fostering a culture of excellence in clinical practice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert clinical support, supervision, and education to staff.
  • Leading in emergency situations and responding to rapid response calls.
  • Utilizing advanced assessment skills to anticipate and manage patient needs.
  • Role-modelling high standards of care, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

  • Proven clinical expertise and leadership in nursing.
  • Advanced assessment and decision-making skills.
  • A strong commitment to patient safety and quality improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and support others.
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
