Contract: 12 months fixed-term, full-time
Salary: $65,627 to $74,510

About the role
We are looking for a Clinical Typist who is experienced with transcription work, possesses a high standard of written English, and has a positive, can-do attitude. The clinical typists provide a vital service to patients, families/whānau and health professionals. Your high level of attention to detail will ensure the accurate and timely transformation of incoming dictation from clinical areas into formal letters, so that information is available to others involved in a patient - s care, when it is needed. The Clinical Typist role requires you to deliver accurate and timely transcription services to clinicians, as well as managing the processing of transcribed clinical documents on a daily basis.
Some of your duties will include:
- Transcribe dictation from clinicians
- Manage the processing of clinical documents
- Communicate with staff both clinical and non-clinical
- Other general administration duties
Please note you will be based Wellington Regional Hospital (but expected to work Kenepuru Hospital and Hutt Valley Hospital when required).

You will be part of a large group of clinical typists who are highly specialized in transcription work. The team provides transcription services to clinical staff across the District, delivering high quality, accurate work with timely turnaround. Our team is diverse, fun, multi-cultural and hard working. We pride ourselves on making a positive contribution to the patient journey, working together and supporting each other to do so.
The Patient Administration Service (PAS) is a group of five services which work together to support the patient journey from referral to a District treatment provider, right through to discharge. PAS goals are to provide high quality, efficient and effective administration support to enable clinical staff to concentrate on patient care.

You will be a highly experienced typist/transcriptionist with an excellent command of English and a positive attitude.
Skills and experience:
- Highly experienced typist/transcriptionist
- A high standard of written English (comprehension, punctuation, spelling and grammar).
- A high level of attention to detail at all times

- Knowledge of medical terminology
