Kaitohutohu Hapori (Community Advisor) - Taranaki

Salary range: $74,222 - $94,387
At the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA), Hāpai Hapori - Community Operations supports iwi, hapū and communities to lead their own development.
This is a great opportunity for a highly self-motivated Kaitohutohu Hapori to join our high performing Taranaki team.
As a Kaitohutohu Hapori your key role is to engage with and support the development of communities, whanau, hapū and iwi to
- Generate positive impacts in hapū and communities
- Give effect to hapū and community aspirations
- Kaitiakitanga or stewardship of resources to enable empowered communities
Your background will include a combination of:
- Hapū led or community led or Pacific led development experience
- Community advisory or community practitioner experience
- Secretariat or funding administration experience in the Private or Public Sectors
- Other relevant experience
Some travel is involved across Taranaki and a driver's licence is essential.
You will have a professional attitude and be able to demonstrate:
- skills, knowledge, and experience in providing advice that builds and empowers the communities, hapū, iwi, marae, and voluntary organisations
- excellent relationship management and collaboration skills
- public service integrity
- strong communication and report writing skills
- experience in online grant management
- data analysis and analytical skills including the ability to interpret financial information
- ability to plan, organise and manage work effectively to meet multiple deadlines
- ability to rapidly adapt in a changing environment.
