Mō te tūnga | About the Role
This role involves working across the Adult Community Therapy Service (under 65 years) and the Older Persons Health Community Teams.
We are seeking a dietitian who is passionate about providing client centred care within an interdisciplinary allied health team. This is a busy, diverse role where you are guaranteed a varied case load and will work with clients and their support people at home, in the community and in clinic settings. Potential work sites include Burwood Hospital, The Princess Margaret Hospital and Rangiora Hospital.
You will be an NZ registered Dietitian with a current Annual Practicing Certificate with a prescribing endorsement.
Travel within Canterbury is required (Health New Zealand vehicles provided).

In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Completing Dietitian assessments and developing holistic goals and management plans alongside the client
- Providing education and resources to the client and their family/whanau, as well as the wider interdisciplinary team
- Engaging with and building relationships with referrers and external agencies regarding the role of the community dietitian
- Prioritising, organising and managing a case load while allocating time appropriately
- Engaging in service delivery reviews and associated
quality improvement initiatives

Your skills will include:
Essential
- Experience with managing enteral feeds and implementing the nutrition care process, including complex cases
- Excellent practical problem-solving skills in order to develop individualised solutions for your clients
- Confidence with working within teams and maintaining relationships with service providers in the community
- The ability to work autonomously as well as build and nurture trusted relationships
- At least 2 years clinical experience
- As travel is required, a full NZ Driver - s License is essential
- Registration with the NZ Dietitians Board and current Annual Practicing Certificate with prescribing endorsement is essential
Desirable:
- Community-based dietitian experience
- Experience working with adults with complex needs including a variety of neurological conditions is advantageous
- Member of Dietitians NZ
