Community Midwife - Antenatal & Postnatal

Location: Blenheim, Marlborough

This is a fixed term parental leave position - Working 8.00AM to 4.30PM Monday to Friday  

Providing coordination of the community midwifery team and antenatal care at the hospital providing assessment unit care and acute antenatal care. There may also be some postnatal care in the hospital and community too.

  • Position suitable for a new graduate or experienced midwife 
  • Work in a small, close knit, friendly team with the caseload midwifery team, core midwives and community LMC - s 

Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)

We are looking for a NZ registered midwife with loads of passion and commitment to join our maternity team. As a casual community midwife you will support safe, high-quality provision of antenatal and postnatal care for women unable to access a self-employed LMC.

Wairau Hospital is a secondary level maternity unit with approximately 500 births per year.  The core, community and LMC midwives work as a team with our Obstetric, Anaesthetic and Paediatric colleagues.

You will be a midwife with total commitment to women centred and culturally respectful care. You will have excellent time management and organisational skills as well as the ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the broader organisational health care objectives. You will have access to Midwifery Educator support and a range of clinical experiences within your role.

The full-time equivalent salary range for this position is $83,667 (for a new graduate) up to $115,715 (before overtime and allowances).
